Capabilities

  • Strategic planning is a management tool that is used to help an organization do a better job - to focus its energy, to ensure that members of the organization are working toward the same goals, to assess and adjust the organization's direction in response to a changing environment. In short, strategic planning is a disciplined effort to produce fundamental decisions and actions that shape and guide what an organization is, what it does, and why it does it, with a focus on the future and sustainability.
  • The process is strategic because it involves preparing the best way to respond to the circumstances of the organization's environment, whether or not its circumstances are known in advance; nonprofits often must respond to dynamic and even hostile environments. Being strategic, then, means being clear about the organization's objectives, being aware of the organization's resources, and incorporating both into being consciously responsive to a dynamic environment.
  • The process is about planning because it involves intentionally setting goals (i.e., choosing a desired future),developing an approach to achieving those goals, and identifying measures to assess whether you are on course.

Here are some of the tools we utilize to assist you with Strategic Planning:

Brainstorming

We utilize software that allows your team to freely explore organizational objectives and measures to assess your progress

Strategic Management System

We utilize the Strategic Management System, once known as the Integrated Planning Process. The system was created by Patrick J. Below (CEO Consulting Services) to ensure you see the results that you expect based on your strategic plan. This process begins with your strategic planning effort, assists you with the design of operating plans to support your goals, and counsels you to develop the tools needed to manage results to meet expectations. A major element often missing from strategic planning efforts is strategy execution. We have found KeyneLink, software available from KeyneInsight, is an excellent approach to execution management, and have used it effectively to give several clients better overall performance.

Prioritization

We lead your team through a process that helps you understand your strengths and areas of growth. Many refer to this as a SWOT Analysis (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats)

Voice of the Customer

Exercises allow your team to understand and develop objectives to satisfy your customer's needs. We might discover as we explore the voice of the customer that you need to develop something new, or have the opportunity to disrupt the market with a fast innovation that will increase your market share. Fast Innovation is an emerging methodology that utilizes lean tools to accelerate and redefine the innovation process. Customers don't always have the imagination to know how your products could better meet their needs if..... This is an era when the fast eat the slow - rather than the large eat the small. Learning that you might have the next market disrupter means that you must act quickly to define the product or process' purpose, measure your customer's needs and assess what is critical to meeting them, analyze various design concept alternatives to get the best fit for the market and your customer needs, design with testing so that you know you are meeting customer expectations with a pilot before you launch, and verify that your design meets the customer needs before you finalize your efforts with detailed implementation plans. These are the steps in the Design for Six Sigma techniques that we know and can help you use to bring your product or service to market rapidly.

We recently completed a redesign of our website and hope you like the new functionality.
